Delete Recycle Bin from your Desktop in Windows Vista

Do you need to want to delete the Recycle bin icon from your desktop?  Or did you accidentally delete the Recycle Bin icon and need put it back? In Windows Vista, this is easy.  Here’s a couple of different ways to delete the Recycle Bin icon from your desktop in Vista.

Method 1:

Right click  on the Recycle Bin and click on the “Delete” option.  That’s all there is to it.

Method 2:

Right click anywhere in the free space on your desktop and select the “Personalize” option.

In the Personalization window, click on “Change desktop icons” on the left side of the window.

The Desktop Icons Settings window will open and you can manage all system icons.  Uncheck the box next to the Recycle Bin and click the “OK” button.  Stating the obvious here, but leaving the box checked adds the icon to your desktop.
